A construction error aboard the "Emma Maersk" caused the strong water Ingress in the ship's engine room on Feb 1. Although the watertight bulkheads in the propshaft tunnel acted as they should, the water found its way into the engine via holes around the massive wiring in the tunnel. Maersk Line is of the opinion that a change had been made to the original plans. The Maersk Company is in the process of reviewing all the ships in the series, and have discovered the same constructiuon mistakes aboard other ships of the type. The errors are to be immediately corrected. The thruster which caused the water ingress will now be sent for examination to Rolls Royce who built it.
