Harun Şişmanyazıcı was born in Istanbul in 1950 and GRADUATED FROM IU. FACULTY OF ECONOMICS, IU. FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT ECONOMICS AND NORWAY MARITIME ACADEMY (2nd HONOR DEGREE SCHOOL).
He worked as an Economist in the International Contracts Committee on behalf of the Ministry at DB DENİZ NAKLİYAT A.Ş, Bilateral Agreements, Liner Conferences, Agency Agreements Branch Manager, America Line Branch Manager, Tanker Department Head, Northern Europe Regional Manager (Hamburg), Head of Liner Department, Turkish He served in the sector as the Auditor of the Libyan Joint Shipping Company, Vice Chairman of the Board, General Manager, General Manager of ART Line, founder and manager of Ultramar Brokering Company. He served as the agency representative and line partner of Castellon Shipping (Spain) and Arap Spanish Maritime (Egypt).
He worked as an international staff crude oil broker in Nato DSA Crude Oil division, as an Economist in the Islamic Shipowners Association, and represented Turkey in international meetings related to Maritime for 18 years.
He advised the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Shipping and the Ship and Yacht Exporters' Association.
He worked as a lecturer at IU Faculty of Business Administration, Business Administration Institute, Istanbul Commerce University, IU Engineering Faculty, Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering Faculty, Piri Reis University Püsem. He gave short-term lectures as a guest at some other universities.
He gave lectures on maritime and logistics in various institutions, and gave special training to the personnel of many public and private sector companies. He has presented papers at many national and international conferences and chaired the session. He was a member of the editorial board and writer in maritime journals, prepared thousands of pages of articles, research, reports and lecture notes, wrote a book and received awards.
He is currently a member of Shipowners' Union Attraction Center and Head of Academic Commissions Maritime Department, KUDENFOR Consulting, Ship Safety Association Vice President, DTO Maritime Magazine Editorial Board Member, SEANEWS Magazine editorial board member and lectures at universities as a lecturer, in many magazines and websites. He also writes articles.
